| Petaling Jaya: Cuzzy Advanced Convergence Laboratories Sdn Bhd aims to capture a slice of the booming Internet gaming market through its partnership with Dragonback Games Sdn Bhd.
Cuzzy chief executive officer Jeffrey Raj said the company's free Internet broadband television network, Xtreme Broadband Broadcast TV (XBB.TV), would feature Dragonback Games subscription-based Internet gaming portal Jumboplay.
"We aim to capture at least 50,000 of our Malaysian viewers to subscribe to Jumboplay by end-2007," he told StarBiz in a telephone interview.
Raj said the target, if achieved, could be worth about RM1.2mil in annual recurring revenue for XBB.TV.
XBB TV offers dynamic video on demand content and live streams from the channels on the Internet. Malaysian viewers from about 90,000 for XBB TV's two million strong global viewer base.
Raj said XBB.TV had the environment to strategically provide global marketing and web-based solutions for partners that wanted to widen their reach beyond the local market.
"XBB.TV has become an interactive platform for advertising and promotional activities, Dragonback games will be able to leverage on our large viewer base to promote its products and services," he added.
Raj said the company was also eyeing a possible initial public offering during the first half of 2007.
Jumboplay currently offers 42 game titles ranging from 3D games and board games to arcade-types. Malaysian end-users can enjoy unlimited download and playback of highly acclaimed computer games for as little as RM19.90 per month.
XBB TV was launched 19 months ago and has since contributed RM1.6mil to Cuzzy's net profit. Around 70% of XBB tv's revenue comes from original content produced by XBB TV Original Productions.
Cuzzy has three divisions - XBB TV, Mobile Broadband TV and Broadband Broadcast TV. The latter two divisions are still being developed.
