| Cyberview Sdn Bhd (CSB), the landownder of
Cyberjaya, has always aimed to offer recreational facilities and value-added
services to the community and tomorrow there will be an added attraction
taking place at the Lake Gardens.
There will be a fishing and cooking competition held in conjunction
with the official opening of the newly-completed RM23mil clubhouse.
The Cyberjaya Lake Garden Community Clubhouse will be officially
opened by second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcob at
7.30pm today, which will then be followed by an exhibition and concert
by singer Zainal Abidin and British group Madison.
With a whopping RM10,000 offered for the “big catch,”
the organizers are confident of attracting more than 2,000 anglers
for the event.
The second prize is RM3,000 and the third prize is RM1,000.
Just like the Zainal Abidi concert, the entrance fee and registration
for the angling competition is also free. However, a RM5 will be
collected from each participant for garbage collection.
On Wednesday, approximately one tonne of ikan pacu, ikan keli and
patin were released into the Cyberjaya Lake Gardens by Multimedia
Development Corporation (MDeC) chairman Tan Sri Halim Ali, Cyberjaya
Sdn Bhd managing director Redza Rafiq and singer Zainal Abidin.
“The competition is part of the many community activities
for all ages lined up for the official launch of the clubhouse built
to create a livelier and healthier lifestyle, not only for the daytime
population but for the residents of Cyberjaya a more active township.
The two-day event, he added, would feature fun activities such
as exhibitions by the Cyberjaya community comprising of developers,
higher learning institutions, companies operating in Cyberjaya,
a futsal tournament, cooking competition and colouring contest for
children.
